Every time I see a "no politics" rule in a my first thought is "how much do you want to bet they think the basic human rights of trans people is a political topic?"

Ack yeah, thanks for bringing this up. 😔 We have this rule on the /r/ProgrammingLanguages discord but I hope our decisions make it clear that the human rights of trans people is not up for debate, and actively supported by the mod team.
I've always found it a difficult rule though, as imo there is a political element inherent to PL design, in the way communities are developed, and the fact that they empower people to do things they wouldn't otherwise do. (thinking back to a Rust keynote I saw a while back)
