You know how ; is used to mark comments in assembly? I've always found it a bit funky, given that // would be more familiar to systems programmers.
Turns out, folks at ARM agree! The Armv8 reference manual says, "A64 assemblers are encouraged to accept [// as a comment leader]".

Doesn't the character depend on the platform? At least this seems to be the case with GNU Assembler: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Assem (I'm far from an expert though)

TIL. I don't think I've seen anything other than ; in practice, but I've mostly used LLVM's assembler and not the GNU one, so maybe that's the reason...
