I mean surely I can get my head into gear to do something creative that is not the thing I'm meant to be doing all week for work, bu noooo, brain has other ideas

but why can't I be an artist for things that people actually appreciate - like pictures and stuff. not many folks understand how pretty programming languages and type systems can be. then I worry about getting all boring and somebody who can only talk earnestly about one thing
