“Fast forward two years and you’ve converted less than a third of your old code. New technologies have come out that make your bleeding edge tech look like a dull butter knife.” – this pops up a bunch! I think I've heard it called the ‘Lava Layer Anti-pattern‘ before?

Like that layer of code that nobody understands using an old technique, that everyone is afraid to touch. Once you start getting multiples of these things can get mighty scary!
