I was put off by the apparent difficulty in making it efficient on computers, but according to this you can do it in such a way that this is not much of an issue.

The interesting thing about this presentation is that it claims that quaternions look weird due to them being presented from a confusing perspective - like trying to explain the motion of planets around the earth using epicycles. 🤷♂️

interesting. it's amazing that with math concepts, so many things are closely linked a way which renders there multiple correct ways of understanding them.

Yes! Same goes for programming! But yeah, different perspectives give different trade-offs. Neither one is 'right' or 'wrong', but one might have an easier time translating to one, doing some work, then translating back.

Heh, been pondering great circle navigation using bivectors again. Was thinking about this a few years ago... thought it might be fun to try avoiding the pain of spherical coordinates 🤔🤔
