And all Haskell books I've seen say that a reason for learning Haskell is because it makes you a better programmer in any language. I'm not too sure of that tbh...

Learning Haskell usually makes you a much worse programmer in many other languages.

Whenever somebody starts learning Haskell I'm quick to attempt to 'inoculate' them by telling them all the annoying things about it. Same goes for Rust and Coq and others. I don't know if this works though. I do tell them to enjoy the learning but just be wary of the coolaid.
That may be a good strategy. I learned just enough Haskell to see just its good parts, I have no idea of the ways I can shoot myself in the foot with it.
