Making a project claiming it does big things already and then seeing someone double down on those claims only to see it wasn't true is different than a hobby project where you state what you want it to do and being upfront that it can't now. Being ambitious is fine, lying isn't.

There's a distinction and I had context having read a lot of this guy's issue tracker that he seemed full of it and bit off more than he can chew. Out of context w/o all that? Looks like a pile on on top of the fact 4chan/r/programmingcirclejerk found it making it toxic

Idk, I don't think there's a lot of good that came out of this whole v lang thing. On the one hand he made tons of claims at first that it did do that, then after people were like that's impossible and that the way he talked meant hi didn't know any PLT made it sound like vapor.

On the other hand the internet started debasing him as a person and not his actions and just became cruel rather than calling out problematic behavior and claims.
