(Curious inverse note here too: absolutely unintentionally -- just due to Gendery Trained Under-Performance of Friendliness Stuff plus eg. some shyness on my part, or use of an icon rather than my face -- I often get feedback that I come across as "cold, jaded, disaffected")

I often wonder if the use of an icon does that for me too! Also if it makes me seem less like a real person.

Someone recently asked if my normal icon is “some high tech eye of Sauron or HAL”
(It’s an 8 bit Gray code rotary encoder. For my code-related accounts. A very weak pun.)

My avatar is my sister's late cat, who used to be nervous of everything. When I was in a bad way mentally she was a good friend to me. In turn I helped her learn to be less scared of things. She ended up living to a peaceful old age. I find her journey to be very inspiring! 🥰🐈
