Yeah! I've been using it for some time on a research project, and we've also been working on replacing our font shaping code (currently in C) with Rust. Still a relatively long road towards something we can open source, but that's our eventual goal!

Font shaping is required for font rendering, but they aren't the same thing. Font shaping is the process that consumes a stream of unicode codepoints, and based on the font file, figures out what glyphs from the font to render and where to render them.

Pathfinder could be used in conjunction with our work, but they don't really overlap too much in terms of what they do.
