Just called the office of my representative to express my disappointment that seems to have come to a compromise on #aabill and was told they have received a number of calls in the last few hours. Keep it up!

Keep it short and sweet per the link unless you’ve got something specific to say so the lines stay open, they’ll want your details to pass on to your rep, I was told I’d receive a follow up email about it. Be polite, the people on the lines are probably interns.

Hi email me on peter.khalil.mp@aph.gov.au and I will send you a more comprehensive update on the negotiations. We (Labor) have said we oppose bill until govt agrees to substantive amendments we have put on oversight, warrants referral to tech expert/judge in systemic weakness

Last night I was horrified to learn how employees unlucky enuf to get hijacked by Govt agencies, will be forced to hack into their companies database or face 5 years in prison. That is absolutely crazy.
How can this have anything to do with security #aabill

Not sure who told you that but the bill does not provide that power. A warrant is required to access content in cooperation with Co. Which if it refuses under amendment we have pushed the matter is referred to judge and expert tech panel for adjudication.

Why on earth would you vote for a Bill that needs amendment? As a software engineer and tech worker, this is more evidence that Labor does not care about our or the public's interests when it comes to national security.
