Really!? I had to write some last week and the lack of map, filter, and friends was an immediate wtf. Then array appending, nil checks (groan), error handling and string manipulation. The only nice bits were the built-in http support and gorm db package.

Yeah, this was my experience of it. Was enough to throw in the towel in sadness at my last job. I'd almost prefer Java these days.

Java has local type inference. Streams API. At least you also have nullable annotations too. And easy to convert to Kotlin too! 🤣
