extremely frustrated that rust dev discussion is currently smeared across discourse, github (issues and rfcs), irc, discord, zulip, and probably some other platform i haven't even heard of yet

I hear that Discord has accessibility issues for the vision impaired, so I'm wary of moving to it for my own stuff. It also doesn't seem to handle many different projects well, and I always feel overwhelmed using it. IRC doesn't have persistence. So I'm stuck with buggy gitter.

In my perfect world IRC would be easier to use (no need for bouncers, easier archiving, permalinking), and we would all just use that. All of these proprietary things are scary.
