The quality of your codebase is a UX issue. If everything is inconsistent, if it takes longer to deliver than your competitors, if every major change results in countless additional bugs, if performance only ever degrades over time—your users will notice.

This is UX scope creep, and really somewhat arrogant. UX ppl are not the only problem solvers and system thinkers in the world. Good programmers spend their career learning how to quickly and efficiently create value.

What's your practical claim? UX ppl should also do software architecture? You don't need a tech lead, just hire more UX people?

Everyone involved in building products is a "UX person", whether it's officially recognised or not.

There's also the UX of code, which we as programmers should own. We can take advantage of UX ideas to help make our code, tools, and languages easier for our peers to work with. Indeed lots of us already do, we may just be using different language to describe it.
