    An awesome story about crowdsourcing and my home town!

    A year ago, "nathanwright120" made an edit to , adding a tag that indicates that a building in the suburb of Fawkner in Melbourne, Australia, had 212 floors instead of 2. All his other edits of openstreetmap seem legit, so it appears to have been a typo... (1/2)

    The same incident reported by NYT. Apparently the officers in question have been suspended, hopefully that doesn't just mean that they get a few days off with full pay before going back to do it again.

    Another day, another horror. As much for the indifference of the other officers as the violence of the attacker. The victim is reportedly in “stable, but serious” condition.

    Today the Estonian Parliament approved the World's 1st Digital Nomad Visa - an initiative that started from the discussions office few years ago. My team is a proud co-parent of this legislative baby. Finally are getting a legal right to work& travel.

    It was actually lots of fun hosting our first fully virtual members meeting, and it went quite well - I was disappointed that I couldn’t introduce everyone to Tallinn, though :-(

    Our IPTC Spring Meeting 2020 was last week, held virtually of course. We had some great presentations and discussions from robot journalism to a live blockchain-based trust project, plus working group updates and ongoing projects. Read more

    Here's a really interesting study that looks into where programmatic advertising money goes... only 51% of advertiser spend goes to publishers, and 15% seems to disappear into thin air...

    So says they’re waiving flight change fees, but then they slap an extra £1k charge with no explanation? How does that work?

    pleased you have “waived charges” for my student son, having to leave uni in Canada due to C19 crisis. LESS pleased you’re charging £950 “additional charge per passenger”. Assume you are upgrading him to 1st class as 21st birthday gift? Or just profiteering?

    The 2019.1 version of the IPTC Photo Metadata Standard introduces the exciting new feature to mark regions within an image, and metadata about those regions, directly in the image file!
