An interesting correlation is that the older you are the more likely you are to be successful at entrepreneurship. The median age of a successful founder according to a Kauffman report a few years ago is ~38, and there are indications that older is even better historically.

there's also accumulating enough experience to avoid the many many pitfalls that can befall you along the way. Silicon Valley (the show) is basically a collection of every way you can screw up a good startup.
