Yes, unfortunately: an increasingly inevitable result of 30+ years of failure to deal with the ecological crisis - and the same state-corporate nexuses that were most resistant to economic change will be the one pushing authoritarian / military solutions to the crisis.

I imagine that as long as high standards of living are linked with environmental impact, this gets really ugly if it’s not deeply connected with some negotiation or balancing of standards of living around the world.
