I am begging artists, even beginners, to start properly naming files (and layers by extension). Not only will it help you find stuff with ease, but it will prepare you for when you inevitably have to work with other people on the same stuff if you choose to make it your career
If you're thinking about moving house I have some advice: don't. I mean, sure do it. You're probably gonna be much happier living in that new apartment or neighbourhood BUT you should also know that you should not move. Ever. Just do not do it. It's not worth it.
In Dutch we say you're "being lived" when you're so busy that you've lost agency over your own decisions. And it's nuts to me that this is not a common English phrase.
I don't have much to say on this that hasn't already been said a million times, but the contrast between the duels at the end of STAR WARS 2 and STAR WARS 3 is a good argument for why thinking of light as a compositional tool is, to say the least, handy.

In 2006 a high school English teacher asked students to write to a famous author & ask for advice.
Kurt Vonnegut was the only one to respond.
His reply was a doozy.
the corporate willingness to not just view culture and history as disposable, but also to punish those who record, archive, organize, and share it out of their own passion is really something else
