There’s a particular type of house in suburban Omaha that people (including my mom lol) love to point out appear to have the word “poop” on them. Is this the architect’s subtle commentary on modern suburban-style homes yes or no

Update: FrontRunner is now on the map too! I'd argue that the region's BRT lines (35M and UVX) should be visualized in the transit layer as well, if we're truly serious in suggesting BRT is just as good as light rail.

I know that generally it’s the property owner’s responsibility to clear sidewalks in SLC, but this is a great example of why that policy is absolute trash. is it possible for anyone to do something about this?

400 S, a road, southwest corner at intersection with 600 E. The roads are incredibly well taken care of, but sidewalks an afterthought. There is no joke at least an inch of pure ice here. Almost impossible to walk without slipping here.

All y'all tweeting tonight about how caucuses are terrible: this is basically how we handle public input for planning decisions. See the problem?

I just spent like two hours shoveling the driveway and the walkway to the front door and digging out my car from the mountain left behind by the snowplow. Now I’m enjoying a nice cup of hot choccy because I definitely deserve it.

Someone convince me this is real because I’m used to Republicans in other states completely steamrolling any attempt at creating a better, more livable society

Gig exploitation math is very simple. IRS sets the standard mileage deduction every year based on avg costs for fuel, maintenance, tires, insurance, and depreciation. In 2019, it’s 58 cents/mile. Doordash pays $5 for 10 mile delivery INC tips. Net loss to driver: 80 cents.

Suggestions for car-free streets in cities I've lived in: Salt Lake City - Main Street from S Temple to 400 S St. Louis - Delmar between Kingsland and Des Peres; Euclid between Pershing and Forest Park Omaha - Maple Street from 59th to 63rd; also the entire Old Market district

The pop-up bike lane on 10th Street was apparently a success for cyclists. 73% said they felt safer taking the temporary, protected bike lane, which lasted for a week last year.

Something cool I just noticed: TRAX lines are now available on the Google Maps transit layer! Pretty sure this is new because I haven't seen it before.
