Smart piece by @jtemple: Addressing climate change is going to require the building and rebuilding of a staggering amount of infrastructure. America has become really inept at doing that, for a whole bunch of reasons, and that'll need to change, fast.https://www.technologyreview.com/s/615045/climate-change-green-infrastructure-us-public-works-building-boom/ …

A little federal investment would certainly kick things off but I know that’s just crazy talk...

oh sure but what i love about james' piece is he points out its not solely a question of money — that's necessary but not always sufficient

Interesting to think that Trump’s NEPA rollback might make it easier to build all that climate infrastructure.

yeah i wish the piece had just answered once and for all whether those proposed reforms will be helpful at all or not. i'm inclined to be suspicious but i honestly don't know

How the country lost the will to build for its future is a deep pathology. Contrast with Asia: a fervent belief in infrastructure and education to lead the way to greatness. We can borrow from the Sputnik era to create momentum.

Remember when Trump said our airports were the laughingstock of the first world? It was the one thing I agreed with, and unless I missed something, I don’t see him talking infrastructure now. (Do I need to read the article?)
