  2. It’s little thing that meant the difference between a file parser taking 11 s to load a large document and it taking 0.4 s.

  3. Mutating an array stored as a value in a Swift dictionary triggers an O(N) array copy, boxing the array in a final class eliminates that.

  4. Linux Swift 3 support in the framework is a little busted right now, but I’m working on it.

  5. With the Xcode 8 GM out, I’ve merged the swift3 branch into master for GPUImage 2:

  6. The 1080’s a royal pain to get set up, since Pascal GPUs require CUDA 8.0, and everything around Caffe has to be built from scratch.

  7. A GTX 1080 trains the DetectNet neural network on the KITTI dataset in 7.5 hours, vs. 18 hours for a GTX 980. The extra RAM does help.

  14. Also, NSWindow rendering has been broken in Mac apps generated by Xcode 8 since beta 2, only noticeable when running them on 10.9 or 10.10.

  15. In Xcode 8 beta 4, creating a custom Swift Error type, then creating a method on an NSObject subclass taking this type in will segfault.

  16. Results would have been better, but I chose a bad option for one of the training parameters.
