Bad take, that was remarkably well handled, they were arguably intellectually equal, and tried to show Picard's inner and outer struggle while still presenting Cmdr Daren as a professional mature senior officer trying to be his partner, not subordinate (like a yeoman) eye candy

I didn't know that either. I have noticed how women are treated differently on next-gen then men. e.g. when Tasha requested to transfer 2 the older ship and had to convince Picard to let her go, but when Worf asks to leave, there are no questions.

However, although women are men's intellectual equals, we ARE physically weaker. We're in no way inferior, but we are the diminutive sex of the two. That's why men are larger and stronger and have thicker skin, literally.

while men and women biologically do differ, women are not really physically weaker. women have a higher pain tolerance than men, men have more muscle mass, etc. but as actors on a set, men and women should be treated as equals. i don’t see how this appeals to gates’ treatment

I do dislike how sexual relations are treated almost like casual sex on Star Trek. I wish there was more respect for the subject and for serious committed relationships. I think that would be more respectful to the reality for women.

I also think it's a lovely dream that one day in the future there will be no sexism but I find it hard I believe that it could ever be so. It also depends on women's expectations, but largely how boys are raised by their fathers. Will they feel threatened by us ...(1)
