It's finally time to upgrade, so I'm picking up a used M1 Macbook Air. And even though it's a 2020 model, it will be a massive upgrade for me since this 2016 laptop lasted so long.
Props to Apple. I've never had a computer last me this long with this much usage. 👍

Converting raw video to proxy for editing and rendering the export are huge CPU and GPU dependent tasks, and are the most significant time sinks left in my process.
And now with the software migrating quickly to the M processor standard, finally being left behind.

Shoutout to my 2016 Macbook Pro. I am still doing all my video editing on this thing. Only had to replace the battery a year ago and it's been a crazy workhorse.
But now it's really showing its age. The A key came off and now only works about 75% of the time. Slow to wake.
