Ugh, that must be so frustrating! I don't think our industry is prepared to grapple with these things in a systematic way yet. Some companies have "ethical vendor" policies, but most don't. Plus it's not clear if/how those would apply to the use of 3rd party open source software

I will try. I appreciate your sympathy; for sure, my prior experience has been that if I want change, I must force it, I must create the change i want to see by shear force of will and personality. I am... unaccustomed to affecting change by pleading for it. By arguing for it.
