The Bosque

@BosqueUbc

The university wanted to chop at least 8 of us down for a small building that could easily go elsewhere. The community fought back and we were saved!

    Still only 🦗🦗 from and . Maybe or have some thoughts as to why this bike lane can be blocked by construction with no safe alternative provided.

    Not sure how any UBC student who has to take the 99B and then transverse the construction hellscape of UBC campus ever arrives in class ready to think. I am impressed by their equanimity.

    "Charred" seems a better spelling for this condo developer in Mt. Pleasant after seeing the row of street trees get axed.

    Wildfires across Australia, record floods in Brazil, second hottest year ever recorded and the Canadian gov't may approve the largest mine ever? Sign the petition: There's no planet B.

    Thank you ! The blockade closer to the curb has been removed. We still hope that the signage gets changed some day, but this is a good start. Thanks again.

    Here's what to do when you spot drivers illegally parked on campus.

    Hello , thought you might like to see these digitized maps of some of your relatives. These maps cover BC’s forests from 1951 to 1957 using a combination of aerial photographs and ground sampling plots.

    Pretty cool that is putting these stickers on the inside of their cars' driver's side doors, to promote the Dutch Reach. Save a cyclist. 🚴❤️

    I'll be sad to see these trees on Wesbrook Crescent go :( (Nobody ever spells Wesbrook correctly)

    Not to mention—and as mentioned in the article—the contribution of trees to mitigating “sound pollution and noise”; despite there being decades of research on the latter’s environmental and health (inc. human) impact.

    Keep the trees! Preemptive removal of 65 mature trees due to safety concerns is ridiculous. If safety is the first priority on campus, then let's focus on the dangers of constant construction and lack of proper walking paths.

    More trees near slated to be chopped down for what appears to be no good reason. This time in the endowment lands.

    Construction is atop a clear hierarchy of priorities at UBC. Buildings everywhere and yet teaching and faculty office space is in apparent decline. I have spent over a decade dodging falling rocks from dumptrucks and watching green spaces disappear. To what end? What's the plan?

    A very sad reminder to why the recent Wesbrook Mall upgrades should have included protected bike lanes.

    Did you know that is allowing ride hail pick up and drop off at the Nest? There are already countless pedestrian and cyclist conflicts with private vehicles in this area every day, not to mention blocked buses.

    Hi In July, one blocks on East Mall near Walter Gage Rd was turned so bikes don't have to use the opposing traffic lane (left image). The block has now been put back (right). Why? This time, can you please move the block closer to curb and also fix the signage? Thx

    And again. Same place. Why does allow contractors to block campus pathways? Maybe if the service vehicle parking wasn't occupied by a dumpster and recycling bins, the space could be used for its intended purpose.
