    I just woke up realising my mental model for state on front-end is filesystem trees — folders and files. Components are like folders. State is like files. “Single source of truth” just means “Pick a folder for that Excel report instead of putting copies of it into five folders”.

    Over abstractor: “We should wrap React in case we move to Vue or Svelte.” What? No. That won’t work. Under abstractor: “We can call fetch in each component.” What about caching? Retries? Error handling? Wrap fetch to centralize your app’s unique fetch-related opinions.
