When Jerry Brown retires as governor, part of his legacy will be leaving California with a $6.1 billion budget surplus. Kansas, meanwhile, is trying to dig itself out from the deficits that are a consequence of tax cutshttps://bloom.bg/2EElobG

Trump not only models US economy on Kansas. It's 1950s Kansas.

I agree, tax cut only benefit the rich, which result in the less expense on public affairs . The distance of the poor and the rich will grow wider ,which wwould be a disaster of USA in the long run. Trump is really short-sighted…🤷‍♂️

Lol lol lol- sorry, California is a complete disaster politically and fiscally. It looks good now only because it’s revenue model is highly dependent on high earners, who do well during boom times. Wait until the next recesssion and the Calpers pension problem hits.

Versus Kansas' revenue model which doesn't work at any time.

The Kansas tax cut were sold on faulty assumptions using a Lauffer model. While the model has some validity imo when tax rates were extraordinary high, I agree in this case the model does not work well. However, CA is far from the ideal when it comes to state revenue models.

Could California spare bit of that surplus to clean up its cities and solve its huge homeless population crisis?

Those are things Governor Brown is spending the surplus on. What is Kansas doing to help the cities damaged by their tax scam? How is Kansas helping the people who've lost their homes so that the wealthy can pocket more?https://www.brookings.edu/blog/up-front/2018/07/16/how-state-tax-cuts-in-kansas-raised-municipalities-borrowing-costs/ …

From the perspective of many that travel to California's big cities, the results are not those intended.

This is most important open secret of this messy administration.Wonder why 45 refers to Venezuela? bc Kansas went that way & he wants to show us, + he managed the most valuable thing that Fred had when he died. A $10M I.O.U! What a son he was, he will bankrupt USA in 3 yrs.
