Forsyth Tech is one of the economic engines of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It offers programs in: - Advanced machining - Cybersecurity - Medical technologies - Welding https://bloom.bg/2CC4HMn pic.twitter.com/B1WEus0VmV
Forsyth Tech is proof: Community college students can graduate with the skills that manufacturers and other local employers need most. Graduates land jobs that can start at up to $60,000 a year https://bloom.bg/2CC4HMn pic.twitter.com/0Q2yYrrqG7
What it would take for the rest of the country to follow suit? Gary Green, Forsyth's president, started working with businesses to find out what the deficiencies were. Once the curriculum was modernized, students made for desirable hires after graduation https://bloom.bg/2CC4HMn pic.twitter.com/EH1j64KABg
It'd be easy for other community colleges to create a pipeline of well-trained workers. From Dell to Catepillar, companies have recognized Forsyth's ability to adapt to business needs https://bloom.bg/2CC4HMn pic.twitter.com/eyNmzk8UD7
Winston-Salem knows what a good community college can do. The rest of the country needs to learn it as well https://bloom.bg/2CC4HMn pic.twitter.com/rePCXl2KUT
I think is better this way ! Traditional things always aspire people spacial the students. I think they give them more motives to their lives with the aim to be more productive and more opportunistic.
Employers don't care if you have been to college. Anyone with more experience gets the job over a new graduate. We have major housing and job crisis's going on these days. And we let more and more people come here to take our homes and jobs. College won't change that
That is party line to excuse poor grad rates in teens and low 20’s. How many actually TRANSFER?
The question I have is, why do people with college educations including their own children try to talk down to others, telling them they don't need college? Practice what you preach right-wingers!
