  1. The loss of dreams is a common tragedy. The loss of dreaming, fatal.

  2. Often the speed of punditry outpaces the speed of facts.

  3. What separates a person from a monster? Nothing, for they are the same.

  4. Democracy is now only acceptable when it doesn't violate personal bubbles

  5. I see a darkness. The egotism of being.

  6. Social media’s primary purpose is masturbatory.

  7. When a person speaks to the void of the Web, they are merely talking to themselves, enjoying the words they produce from keyboard clatter.

  8. In this, they project the egotism of their being. The false and gaudy beauty of their selfishness.

  9. This idea perpetuates, for it represents the zenith of consumerism.

  10. And what point is there in being a consumerist if you cannot flaunt it?

  11. It goes further than that, of course. Especially when you make things political.

  12. Identity politics, after all, is the politicization of the consumerist self.

  13. It stems from the ultimate defense mechanism: When all else fails, make your situation political to grab attention.

  14. When you politicize the self, you can do no wrong, even when you are dead wrong.

  15. If people call you right, you bask in glory. If people call you wrong, it is their fault they don’t understand you, for you cannot be wrong.

  16. If people attack you, this is best: You can say you are persecuted for your political identity. That you are a victim.

  17. Weakness is encouraged by being a victim. Martyrdom, rather than attained by sacrifice, is gained through perceived harm.

  18. However, one cannot be humble, and it rarely helps to be graceful. They imply fault on the person.

  19. For the foundation of identity politics is to be selfish without appearing so. To wear the mask of the marginalized to hide the ego.

  20. It is encouraged to be weak as a victim. It’s forbidden to demonstrate weakness through fault.
