    just so everyone in the replies shredding understands — they chose these books because they’re out of copyright and they don’t have to pay royalties, or anything at all that’s why they’re not promoting actual POC and minority authors $$$$$$

    Yeah whoever issued this is about as competent as the person who greenlit the initiative (same one?). This is not an apology but a defensive statement of intent that reads passive aggressive af. You learn in kindergarden that you apologize if you do harm + make up for it.
