SF Footgun Retweeted The Marina Times
For example: Nielson could have compared what portion of cases were dismissed with neighboring Alameda, CA, or the USA.https://twitter.com/TheMarinaTimes/status/1456359529009008640?s=20 …
SF Footgun added,
The Marina Times @TheMarinaTimesJan. 1, 2020 through March 1, 2021, Boudin tried just 23 cases resulting in 16 convictions. In 2019 during the same timeframe, Gascon tried 294 cases and got 203 convictions. Jan. 1, 2020-March 2021 Alameda had 1,413 convictions. They dismissed 11.4% of cases, SF dismissed 40%. https://twitter.com/susieneilson/status/1456354241296035852 …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Nielson could also have pointed out that the DA and SF courts routine reject lawful demands to release disposition data - after someone is arrested, for example, for possession of a gun, what is the final prosecution, and how does that compare to rates locally, in CA, in the USA?

Comparing Boudin's performance to the equally feckless Gascon tells us almost nothing at all.

If the DA office brought just 23 cases to trial between Jan. 1, 2020 through March 1, 2021 (out of 6000? 8000? felony arrests in that period), don't you think stats Nielson is reporting may perhaps be missing important context. It's hard to see it as anything other than puff.

Additionally, the city had almost 800 fatal overdoses in 2020. Where is the evidence of this massacre in Nielson's selective reporting?

Dismissals, dispositions, and trial delays happen for all sorts of reasons, and shouldn't necessarily be tied to the DA, the same way charging decisions are, which DA's have sole discretion over. And what do overdoses have to go with the DA? It's a medical/public health issue.

Re: overdoses. Boudin claimed that 25% of his load is “drug related and a distraction” “Give me kilos not crumbs.”
@SFPD delivered kilos. Out of 6000+ felony arrests Boudin has brought 0 dealers to trial in a year with almost 800 OD deaths. Boudin has consented to a massacre1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

A columnist that the Chronicle choose not to keep on its payroll is your source?
And again, how is a DA supposed to unilaterally clean up a neighborhood and take the blame of it doesn't. It takes a village. Why is @chesaboudin taking all the heat. The drumbeat is pathetic
