Thinking about the surveillance/integrity debates while reading 's RADICAL HOPE generated this graphic depicting a "Trust Gap" that, for me, reorients the discussion of "cheating." What if... 1/6

A skeychnote that shows the "trust gap" in which students fall into the space between what we SAY we want (eg innovation, critical thinking, agency, collaboration) and what we SHOW we want (eg conformity, compliance, competition). "Cheating" becomes an act of self-preservation and resistance.

ALL THE TIME. even now. a crowd of voices say something new-ish. a few - often excellent - are elevated by status quo to blue check celeb status. but the shift in discourse never quite breaks through. powers-that-be gotta CHANGE, not anoint a new hero.

It has been almost a year since the massive uptick in academic surveillance began I thought it would be interesting to look back in a Lit Review Posting 1 article every day from the Against Online Proctoring spreadsheet

Scam companies hack college websites and insert advertising for their companies. This is wild. h/t Worth pointing out that these companies wouldn't exist without our current grading structure and incentives.

This province can't keep downloading responsibilities while withholding resources during a pandemic. They are asking those leading our schools to do this work without the tools: It's not sustainable.
