adding an edit button to twitter is the worst fucking idea I've ever seen, it's going to enable unprecedented levels of gaslighting and cryptofascism, for the meager benefit of being able to correct typos. It's like swatting a fly with artillery fire

even if there *is* a feature to look at edit history, how many people do you think are going to bother? how many people do you think are going to monitor what they liked and retweeted to make sure it hasn't changed to something completely different?

well with the same logic you could argue that it's pointless to use microwaves when we already have a campfire to roast meat on. "why bother? we already have a method of doing that."
