when i was halfway thru my amazon internship, i had yet to receive any feedback from my boss, so i asked him during our weekly one-on-one he told me to review amazon's bs "leadership principles" and tell him next week how i thought i was doing

my old CS job laid off an entire other department and gave us their work, essentially grafting on an entire second job that had nothing to do with CS. when we asked if we were getting a raise, the department head told us "absolutely not, your job is too easy already"

a short-term boss hosted me briefly at their apartment for some volunteer work, and then: -repeatedly shamed me for my age -fired the only coworker I knew -accused a coworker of sleeping with me (without even mentioning this to me) then didn't send me my pay until 8 months later

This is mild but when I was in IT my director sent me an email insisting I wear a business casual dress code for my job where I was spending 50% of my time around computers with an inch of dust on them, lugging printers, and assembling computers.

This has a happy ending though because I said no and she had no ground to stand on because I was massively overqualified and they were lying me $13 an hour
