Yes but our current natural systems collapse is human created. Only a precious few are not responsible for said crisis. It's OK to own that. The mitigation solutions are also human. Ethical solutions are available. Whatever systems or isms don't pass an energy audit must go.

Except in this case basically all the delta variant death of adults is due to individual moral failure (didn’t get vaccinated)

While people certainly make choices we can still contextualize them with things like the efforts to dismantle public services, lack of education around the public good, and the propagation of individualism.

I keep thinking that it can't be a coincidence that Europeans started invading the Americas in the wake of the Black Death, in which the wealthy became utterly indifferent to mass death, and then the colonies rapidly expanded as disease killed millions in the Americas.
