@bobwyman chatting with my HVAC guy this morning (air handler’s being replaced). While he was here, I asked about heat pumps. He’s not recommending them because you can be down for a week or more, as parts are less standardized, and harder to come by. Disappointing to hear.
@phildrone I suggest that the "HVAC guy" you spoke with probably isn't qualified to install geothermal heat pumps and probably has no relationship with a parts supplier. Thus, he's telling you about *his* personal capabilities, not the wisdom of using GHP.
