The NY DEC has published proposed rules for Statewide GHG Emission Limits. The proposed rule adopts limits on the emission of greenhouse gases in 2030 and 2050, as a percentage of 1990 emissions, per the requirements of the CLCPA. http://www.dec.ny.gov/regulations/121052.html …
The NYS 2030 limit will be 240.83 million metric tons of CO2e and the 2050 limit will be 60.21 million metric tons. It will be challenging to meet these limits, but with Beneficial Electrification and the decapitalization/decommissioning of gas assets, we can make it happen!
