Encouraging! Minimum charge is $68/month for 3 tons of heat (peak) via the shared loop. Customer is responsible for owning and powering their heat pump. The extra efficiency of ground source presumably saves more than $68/month in electricity, compared to air source.
In Future of Heat testimony filed today, National Grid Upstate (NiMo) proposes to develop a geothermal shared loop pilot providing 2,600 tons of heating and costing customers $22.69/ton/month.
