Fossil fuel advocates are attempting to racialize efforts to transition to Clean Heat. But, if LMI folk convert to "cheap" gas today, then tomorrow they will be stuck paying for the stranded assets abandoned by wealthier folk who moved to heat pumps.https://heated.world/p/the-quiet-campaign-to-make-clean …
The board probably chose gas because they think it is "cheaper." While it may look that way now, gas will become much more expensive in the future. The CLCPA requires selling less gas and that means fixed costs will be a larger part of bills. Stranded assets are expensive.

The board never considered heat pumps or the cost of stranded assets or the future cost of gas. I will be leading an effort on making the comparison.
