Now they’re going to say it’s too dangerous to meet to change their rules. Or something. It’s ridiculous. And totally foreseeable.
CSPAN shows that traditional, in-person hearings are poorly attended. So, online hearings might result in better attendance. Also, the need to testify in person is a burden for many even in normal times. Online hearings would be more inclusive. Looking at the House Rules, it appears that there is a requirement that at least two members of a committee must be "present" to hold a hearing.
