What was the most mind-blowing scientific reveal in your life? Something that you learned that completely shifted your point of view (can be obvious, maybe you learned it as a kid). I'll start with my big one, not commonly known, which I learned as an adult:

Entropy, and with its inevitable accumulation, the heat death of the universe. Then, the realization that all living systems are anti-entropic in that they reduce local entropy while increasing it globally. In a world with god, the ultimate moral law would be: "Fight Entropy."

Yes, I remember it well and enjoyed reading it first back in the 1960's when I was just beginning to get into science fiction. It is an excellent piece of writing and very thought provoking.
