The current crisis teaches us that we are willing to accept a very high cost to save lives. Well, in the USA 100,000 people die every year from fossil fuel pollution. Will we be more ready to pay the price to save those lives as well?

In NYC, a few years ago, we banned the use of #6 bunker fuel for heating. Now, our air is cleaner than it has been in 50 years and our premature mortality rate has been reduced by 400-800 lives per year. Further action would save even more lives. Will we pay the price for life?
