Why not require biogas instead of eliminating all nat gas use. I mean all of this is dumb, but why not at least just bio source the gas. You can't tell me they're not composting out there
Biogas is a fine idea. However, it appears that there aren't enough sources of biogas to replace all the fossil gas we use. Given that biogas is a limited resource, we should reserve it for use in generating electricity and we should convert gas furnaces to electric heat pumps.

The models I have listened to people discuss lean heavily on more solar and wind coming on line in the coming years at an increasing rate of adoption. I was interested to hear / see the models I saw today showing electrical rates going down as this happens.

Two things, I was wondering about biogas just for that town. Not everyone. And two, due to losses in transmission aren't heat pumps less efficient than burning gas at the site? Unless you have your own solar/wind setup on site
