What is the path? I went to the Climate March in 2017 and was very disillusioned. Lots of bitching but no solutions. An awful lot of travel (and emissions!) to something that I haven't seen have an impact from. I know I'm not the only one frustrated by this. https://twitter.com/pragmactivist/status/1203060968030457864 …

The path is: 1. Decarbonize electric generation 2. Adopt electric vehicles 3. Replace furnaces with heat pumps.

Didn't think the path requested had to do with steps that can and should be taken. More like: what we do to accumulate enough political power to MAKE those steps happen, and quickly? Is there a plan/path that is more than "Protest in big numbers till we can't be ignored"?

You have more power than you think you do. But, if you're protesting, you're probably wasting that power. If you want to use it, get off the streets and get into the conference rooms where policy decisions are made. Don't protest, propose.

Rather than spending an afternoon marching every once in a while, if you want to use your power to influence policy, you need to spend the hundreds of hours needed to study and craft detailed policy proposals and present them to policy makers. Marching is easy. Do the hard work.

This completely ignores that, up to this point, the most powerful stakeholders in the energy sector have a vested interest in keeping fossil fuels in use. There is no policy proposal ingenious enough to change that.

Gas utilities in many states are prohibited from earning money on anything other than capital investments. Thus, State law forces them to invest in more gas infrastructure. Change the law and you change the rules of the game. First, you need to know the law. Do the work!

So you're of the belief that Republicans dispassionately looked at the science and came up with climate denial by themselves?
