Gas distribution utilities will also accumulate significant stranded assets as ratepayers abandon gas for heat pumps. In New York, utilities recover costs over 65 to 85 years but the CLCPA requires 80% reductions in GHG emissions over 30 years (by 2050). #DeathSpiral is coming.
