I can't figure out why utilities aren't all over promoting EVs. Of the 12,770 kWh my house used last year, about 3,250 of them went into my car.
As long as EV's are primarily charged at night, when there is plenty of spare capacity, the very high demand produced by EV charging doesn't help increase the need to build up the rate base. In the future, when there is less capacity, EV's will get more support from utilities.
