NRG speaker referenced the GHG benefits of capturing methane while speaking to bullet about “renewable gas.” Hey #energytwitter and others - How much renewable gas is there? What percent of current gas use could be renewable? Asking for a friend who has to be debating on PURPA.
The most recent National Grid study of RNG's technical potential claimed that RNG could supply, at most, 17% of New York's total gas demand and only 25% of non-generation demand. (Note: NGrid say they will update that study in September of this year.)
