Total CO2 emissions from NYC buildings have dropped 21% since 2005. Emissions from oil are down 53%, electricity's are down 45% and steam's are down 58%. However, Natural Gas emissions have risen 35% since 2005.

In 2017, natural gas burned in Stationary Sources (Buildings) produced CO2 emissions equal to 29% of NYC's total CO2 emissions in 2005. Given that City law requires emissions to be less than 20% of 2005 levels in 2050. We must reduce gas use by at least 1/3 before 2050.pic.twitter.com/8zWOU8iqV1

We cannot achieve either New York States' or New York City's carbon reduction goals without significantly reducing the use of natural gas in buildings before 2050. Stop gas expansion now.
