Interesting. What would that full cost of an individual gas hookup amount to? Instead of piping gas, utilities pipe free district heat and hot water hookups like in Europe and China.

In ConEd territory, the average cost for a new gas connection is over $33,000. For Long Island it is probably a bit lower.
