Nate, it was in the automotive industry (the Japanese one), that the idea of "continuous improvement" was developed and popularized. So, the reality is that software companies who pursue the discipline of continuous improvement are actually "like" some automotive companies.

True! It should have been an American idea, W. Edwards Deming shopped it to the Big 3 and was denied. Japan took it and ran - and kicked our butts with it in the 80s. Cars are better because of it. We're hoping to apply to existing homes.
