I see this as a symptom of a broader problem of intentional ignorance of science and facts. I am liberal, but I think I would vote for a law to require immunizations, even without religious or stupidity exceptions. Parents have a duty to their children and broad, but still limited, authority to choose what is in the best interests of the child. But, if the parents fail in their duty, it is reasonable for the state to protect the children. Withholding immunization is reckless endangerment.
